He started out as staff writer at Melody Maker from 1996 to 1999, and has subsequently written about music, literature, film, television, nature and pop culture for publications including The Guardian, NME, Mojo, Kerrang!, Time Out, Alternative Press, Bizarre, Plan B, Vice, The Quietus, 3:AM Magazine, Uncut, Caught By The River, New Media Monthly, Classic Rock and others.
