Burned Bridges
Come now, stop and smell the roses,
wet them behind the ears.
Play a harp before a cow
root it out and save it for a rainy day.
When you get lemons
make lemonade
(when life gives you scraps, make quilts)
- sweet as honey.
Stand your ground when pigs fly,
shout 'Timber!' at a snail's pace.
To rule the mountains is to rule the river.
but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.
A thing of beauty is a joy forever.
So open that can of worms
spill those magic beans.
and start re-building the bridges you burned.
