January 2007:
Words of the month: wigs, hats, Ullswater, Millican Dalton, bongo, satay, Absolut, birthday, Belle de Jour, pazza.
Happy new y...oh fuck it, it's too late for late. Let's skip straight to the vainglorious self-publicity. Here is some news on my latest writing endeavours. And thanks to those who sent me birthday wishes.
Venison Sausages You want a true story about venison sausages, you say? OK. Here we go → upbondageupyours
The Dillinger Escape Plan: An Academic Analysis There's not enough high-brow writing about heavy metal for my liking. Here's an attempt, written for Laura Hird.com: → dillingerescapeplan
Best of 2006 A list that I wrote concerning the best of culture in 2006, again for Laura Hird's site: → bestof2006. You can also read my opinions on the best books/gigs/people on Dogmatika.com
Generation Errorist I have some poems in a US-based archive/collection entitled 'A Generation Defining Itself'. This link may be of use: → evenstar
I suppose a rock's out the question? I'm currently steadily filtering ten years worth of interviews with various rock stars out there via the rather wonderful archive site Rock's Back Pages. Recent addition includes interviews with The Clash, Smashing Pumpkins, Peaches, The Distillers and - of yes - an on-the-road account with Def Leppard which, as I recall, involved lots of whisky and a bit of a sing-song with Joe Elliot. No sugar was poured on anyone though. Here's the link: → rocksbackpages
More breakfast fragments I didn't post the link properly last month, so you can read my '10 Breakfast Fragments' ← on Dogmatika.
Silicon Vultures New three-piece Silicon Vultures recently signed to the record label I co-run, Captains Of Industry. Debut single 'Sour Tits' is available as a free download via www.captainsof.com. A 5-track vinyl single will be released in April 2007. I heartily recommend you check them out now: siliconvultures. Also watch out for forthcoming releases on captains from Gay for Johnny Depp, The Sound Ex, and Marmaduke Duke.
