November 2006:
Words of the month: Marrakech / lute / snakeskin / pterodactyl sex / marlin / hacksaw / black ankles / fern / Bobby McGee / palomino / chestnuts / fucking flu.
Greetings Here is a brief round-up of some of the writing projects I have been engaged in this month.
Breakfast Fragments. 'Breakfast Fragments' is an on going collection of poems, stories and scribblings written each morning and have appeared in various publications. You can read a short selection over at 3AM Magazine
Spoken word. If you wish to hear my dulcet tones you can hear me reading from my forthcoming 'Virus Poems' collection via The Gulag's MySpace page. They were recorded wit Doc Throberts in Gulag HQ, Durham, September 2006 for use (apparently) on a forthcoming literary CR-Rom.
Blue Lips. One of the aforementioned poems 'Blue Lips' is also available to read on Straight From The Fridge.
My man Cat Stevens. Read my appreciation of the song 'Father & Son' by Cat Stevens and watch the video at the same on Laura Hird's literary site. My mother thought it was me. Cat rules.
Ch-ch-changes. Great things are radical changes are afoot for the record label that I run, Captains Of Industry. Watch this space: www.captainsof.com.
Music reviews. What else? Oh yeah, I've written some articles and reviews for Kerrang! and Plan B, including an illuminating chat about speed with the Deftones. And also a review of Akira The Don's album for DrownedInSound. I don't have the link right now, but recommended you hear the record.
My face My face can also be seen spewing forth shit about music in a couple of DVDs that are currently on sale. I'm not saying which ones they are though. Bad hair day.
MySpace updates I'm constantly uploading a number of poems, stories and 'fragments' to read for free on my MySpace weblog. Keep checking MySpace for some lyrical inanities.
I also working on two new book projects. One factual. One sexual.
Bye
Listen to the 'The Wicker Man' soundtrack and wrap up warm.
